Sri Chaitanya is one of the greatest names in the field of spirituality and yoga. He was a scholar, saint, yogi, poet, and philosopher. He has written numerous books, but I am not going to talk about those books now. Here I will talk about his life and how to get to know him.
The birth of Sri Chaitanya
He was born in the year 1585 in a wealthy family in Gaya, Bihar. His father name was Pradyot Bhatta and mother name was Anusuya Devi. He was the eldest son among three children. The youngest child was named Shri Sripad Bhaskar. He studied Sanskrit, Hindi, and English.
His childhood
Sri Chaitanya was very smart, but he wasn’t an ordinary child. He was more interested in spirituality and he used to read many books about spirituality. He used to go to his father’s room and study. When he was 12 years old he wrote his first book named “Bhakti Raso”. He wrote this book when he was 12 years old.
His youth
When he was 14 years old, his father died. His brother Shri Shripad Bhattacharya helped him to become a great scholar. He became a great scholar and learned many things. He used to write books, but his main interest was the spiritual world.
His adulthood
After his father’s death, he started to learn different philosophies, and he started to practice different religions. At the age of 18, he married a lady named Sri Padmavati Devi. They had one daughter and one son. He was a great scholar, but he had many problems in his life.
Sri Chaitanya’s marriage
Sri Chaitanya and Sri Padmavati Devi were married in the year 1601. After their marriage, they both started to live together. Sri Chaitanya’s wife had a daughter named Shri Radhika Devi.
His death
At the age of 36, Sri Chaitanya died of cholera. After his death, he had many followers, but most of them didn’t follow his teachings.
How to get to know him
There are many ways to get to know him. You can go to his ashram or you can go to his temple. You can also buy his books, but most of the people don’t follow his teachings. You can also listen to his lectures, but he was not interested in money.
